New record number and value of payments in the NBS IPS system

On 15 April 2024, the NBS IPS system processed 384,623 payments worth
4,931,166,508.87 dinars, touching a new record high since the start of
its operation. The NBS IPS system enables one of the world’s
state-of-the-art payment methods. It operates 24/7/365, i.e. citizens
and businesses can make payments easily and quickly, from any place and
at any time they wish – during weekends, non-working days, at night. The
payee receives money in a few seconds only. The system was launched on
22 October 2018 as one of the first systems of that kind in the world.
It has been functioning smoothly ever since, recording a constantly
rising number of payments.
