More affordable payments with the NBS IPS instant payment system

The National Bank of Serbia reminds citizens that the NBS IPS instant payment system represents the most cost-effective method of payment — both for users and all participants in the payment system. This system enables fast and efficient settlement of monthly bills and other payments containing the NBS IPS QR code, with instant confirmation of the transaction.

Citizens can easily make payments in just a few seconds, without visiting bank branches, using their mobile phones — and without the need to manually enter payment details, which significantly reduces the chance of error. By scanning the NBS IPS QR code found on monthly bills, payments become not only simple but also considerably cheaper. Banks charge significantly lower fees for this type of payment compared to, for example, the fees applied to card payments through electronic portals — while some banks even offer QR-code payments completely free of charge.

The NBS IPS QR code is printed on bills issued by the Electric Power Industry of Serbia (EPS), JKP Infostan Technologies, JKP Informatika Novi Sad, and other public utility companies. Citizens can also pay for telecommunication services at retail locations of Telekom Srbija, A1 Srbija, Yettel, and many others. The number of payments made via the NBS IPS QR code is continuously growing, as confirmed by regular statistical data submitted by banks to the National Bank of Serbia.

Citizens can also make instant payments at physical retail locations of the Mercator-S chain (Roda, Idea, Mercator), as well as at NIS Petrol, Gazprom, and OMV gas stations, Lilly Drogerie stores, and online at Gigatron, Vulkan Bookstore, Laguna, Data Status, the Ananas platform, and the online stores of BC Group, Ski Resorts of Serbia, Rapsody Travel, Grawe Insurance, and many others.

Within the NBS IPS system, numerous services and products have been developed, and you can find more detailed information on the official IPS NBS website.
