Transfer – A new service in the NBS IPS system

As part of the implementation of the instant payment system - the NBS
IPS system, the National Bank of Serbia has enabled banks to offer
their customers a new service – Transfer service that allows citizens to
make instant money transfers easily and promptly, every day of the
year, at any time of the day, by knowing only the mobile phone number
that the payee has registered for this service.

Banks will allow users to register their mobile phone number for the
Transfer service and use this service for money transfer via existing
mobile banking applications.

Other customers will transfer funds to the payee’s account, who is
registered for Transfer service, without having to write down or
remember the payee’s account number but will only enter his mobile phone
number or retrieve that number from the contact list on mobile phone.

Based on the NBS approval, Eurobank a.d. Beograd is the first bank
that enabled its payment service users (consumers) to make instant
payments via the Transfer service.

According to the Eurobank a.d. Beograd notice, more information on
the use of the Transfer service can be obtained on this bank’s website,
in its branch offices, and by calling its customer service.

At the moment, the NBS is conducting intensive testing of this
service with other banks, hence in the coming period they, too, will
offer the Transfer service to citizens.
