Instant payment of tax duties and fees on Serbia’s e-Government portal by scanning the NBS IPS QR code

The NBS is informing the public that it is possible to pay tax duties
and fees for the services provided by the Ministry of the Interior and
Tax Administration by scanning the NBS IPS QR code on the uniform
payment slip generated on the e-Government portal – e-Pay (euprava.gov.rs),
using the System for the Generation of Uniform Payment Slips. The idea
is to enable natural and legal persons to file for documents issued by
the Ministry of the Interior in a simple, fast and efficient manner.

Paying tax duties and fees by scanning the NBS IPS QR code enables
the transfer of funds to the payee’s account in just a few seconds and
the payment is immediately visible in the service provider’s system (the
Ministry of the Interior and Tax Administration). Thus, citizens making
such payments are not required to provide evidence of payment in paper
form.

Using the e-Government portal and making payments by scanning the NBS
IPS QR code on the payment slips does not require from the user to
submit additional personal information about their payment instrument,
which provides additional safety in addition to speed and simplicity.
Further, making payments by scanning the NBS IPS QR code reduces the
possibility of errors in typing data from the payment slips and
eliminates the need for refund requests.

The execution of instant payment of tax duties and fees by scanning the NBS IPS QR code involves the following steps:

  • the user should create a uniform payment slip on the е-Pay portal (euprava.gov.rs) by filling in their main data;
  • once the computer screen shows data on the selected service and its
    price, the user should select the option “Download payment slip” or
    “Pay” (payment method: general payment slip), whereafter the screen will
    show the completed payment slip with an NBS IPS QR code;
  • after checking the data in the payment slip (personal
    identification number of the user is contained in the “reference number”
    element), the user should select the IPS Scan option in its mobile
    banking app, scan the displayed NBS IPS QR code and execute the payment
    of the relevant service. The user should click the option “urgent” if
    they want the payment to be carried out as instant payment. The absence
    of such option means that all transfer orders are executed as instant
    payments.
